New Balance's high tech tribute to early-aughts running shoes looks to the trail for inspiration on their new 2002R "Vibrant Apricot". The shoes ditch their standard construction for a look inspired by hiking boots, building the sleek upper from white mesh overlaid with tonal leather panels and taupe Toe Protect reinforcement. driftwood brown, grey and cream mesh on the collar and toe offers some contrast, as does the grey and cream mixed 'N' on the sides, while cream rope laces and metal upper eyelets lean into the boot aesthetic. Tonal suede heel counter and brown  and cream branding on the tongue and heel finish off the details up top, while an ABZORB SBS midsole and N-ergy outsole provide exceptional comfort, cushioning, support and shock absorption.
