New Balance celebrates the history of crafting premium footwear in their northern England factory with the Made in UK 991v1. The 991 arrived at the turn of the millennium as the predecessor to the 990v2, and was the first of the 99X series to feature an ABZORB window in both the forefoot and the heel. This edition echoes that debut pair with a premium pigskin suede and mesh upper in black with tonal leather accents on the toe and heel, silver 'N' logo on the sides, and white embroidered branding on the tongue and heel. It sits atop the aforementioned ABZORB midsole and black Ndurance blown rubber outsole.
