New Balance's latest heritage-inspired silhouette, the XC-72, is inspired by '70s-era concept cars and modern comfort, and designed within New Balance's Green Leaf standard that includes over 50% recycled content on the mesh and suede upper and at least 5% recycled content in the sole unit. The shoe features a grey mesh upper overlaid with dark grey hairy suede panels and a recycled dark grey 'N' on the side, an exposed foam tongue and white stripe on the toe. White laces and dark grey heel clip and  branding fill in the details up top, while a white EVA midsole and dual-tread details on the grey recycled rubber split outsole that creeps up over the side of the front quarter finish off the design.
