Legendary tattoo artist and graphic designer BJ Betts joins forces with Vans for the first-time to deliver a new range of “Made for the Makers” sneakers that applies his distinct aesthetic to classic silhouettes like the UA Authentic. Tapping into the ornate designs that he’s become known for, Betts worked with Vans to update the Old Skool with original camouflage patterns in muted military-inspired colors. The iconic shoe features a mixed olive suede and tiger camo canvas upper covered in his own hand-drawn floral flourishes and coated in liquid and dirt repellant Vansguard®. It features a white leather side stripe, camo UltraCush sockliners, a white rubber cupsole and Vans’ “Made for the Makers” slip-resistant vulcanized lugged outsoles. Betts’ has added a personal touch on the green pull tabs at the heel, with digits representing his birth year (’71) alongside the original Vans style numbers.
