Saucony and German-based sneaker boutique AFEW pay tribute to one of the greatest minds in history on the AFEW x Saucony Shadow 5000 "Time & Space". The shoe celebrates Albert Einstein and his scientific achievements, in particular the Theory of Relativity, while also honoring his time in America as a Princeton University Professor.
The upper of the "Time & Space" mixes premium green suede and grey tweed panels, representing the green blackboards of his classroom and the tweed coats he used to wear, while a co-branded tongue tag displays a gravity field graphic. The design is highlighted by a midsole covered in scribbled equations and a green translucent outsole that both glow in the dark. Mismatched laces, heel tab, eyelets and tongue trim - pink on the right shoe and right on the left - extend down to the "Time" and "Space" dubraes on each shoe as well. "A=few" branding on the heel and scribbled graphics printed on the insole and packaging finish off the design.
