February is Black History Month, a time when everyone should reflect on and celebrate the countless achievements and contributions made by our African American brothers and sisters. Lapstone & Hammer will be honoring this occasion by hosting a series of weekly pop-ups highlighting a few of our favorite black-owned businesses from our local community: Meagan Cook and Botanic Village, Briana Green and The Fancy Crumb, and Khoran Horn and Stripp'd Juice & Guard House Cafe.

The holiday season is traditionally the time for giving, and this year Lapstone & Hammer will be hosting a Holiday Charity Drive for two amazing organizations that serve some the Philadelphia community's most vulnerable populations. To help get things started we will be doing a special Air Jordan 11 "Cool Grey" activation to really energize this giving initiative (see below for more information).

Lapstone & Hammer is joining forces with Live Life Nice, the multi-media and apparel brand founded by Philadelphia 76ers in-arena host Christian Crosby, to create a capsule that will see 100% of the proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Philadelphia. There are few things more important to us than giving back to our community and empowering the next generation, which we have made a core component of our business through The Lapstone Initiative. Live Life Nice was founded on similar principles, dedicating themselves to inspiring, motivating and empowering people to be Nice and do Nice. Teaming up for this collaboration was a no-brainer, especially when it is in the service of a great organization like the Boys & Girls Club of Philadelphia.

Lapstone & Hammer is once again partnering with the United Way to benefit kids in our community with the Lapstone & Hammer x United Way "Step Up for Student Access" Fundraiser. We will be giving away 1 pair each of the Union LA x Air Jordan 4 "Off Noir", Salehe Bembury x New Balance 2002R1 "Peace Be The Journey", and Off White x Air Jordan 5 "Sail" to raise funds to purchase the devices required to support distance learning for local students in need. As we have done with past Lapstone Initiatives, we are seeking to harness the hype of three of the hottest releases of the year to create real change in our community. We feel it is our duty to activate much needed resources to students in Philadelphia and its surrounding communities that are in need of assistance.
