The Air Jordan 3 is, quite possibly the greatest Air Jordan silhouette ever made. But it didn't drop from the heavens fully formed, in fact Tinker Hatfield's original vision was a bit different than the iconic design that we know and love today. Now for the shoe's 30th anniversary, after a limited release in March, that initial sketch will finally be brought to life with the Air Jordan 3 Retro "Tinker". The shoe is mostly unchanged, built on a white tumbled leather upper with black, red and grey accents reminiscent of the "Fire Red" colorway. The uppers feature a large swoosh on the lateral side and embroidered NIKE branding on the medial side, both of which were removed from the final design. Tinker's signature is stitched behind each tongue, and the insoles contain a graphic of the original sketch. Nike Air branding on the heels add some OG authenticity and finish off the design.
