Lapstone & Hammer is thrilled to welcome Rhude to our store. Rhuigi Villaseñor's L.A. based label mixes minimalist style, streetwear sensibilities and finely sourced fabrics to create elegant and functional ready-to-wear essentials. Villaseñor's style is heavily influenced by his love of fine art and pop culture, as evidenced by the graphic printed tees and hoodies, logo hats and "traxedo" track pants from this season's collection.
“I’m really, really keen on approaching my clothes as an art project, so there’s that romantic feel that it’s handmade,” Villaseñor said. “I know exactly where it came from and how it’s made.” And where everything comes from is Rhude's Los Angeles studio, made with materials and fabrics that Villaseñor sources from Italy and Japan, among other places. This attention to detail is at the core of Rhude's identity, and one of the major reasons we were so keen to have them in our shop.
“The purpose of the brand isn’t about perfecting the garment — obviously, execution’s big, but it’s more so about the feeling that a hand has touched it and this is by my people," Villaseñor said. We are excited that Rhuigi Villaseñor and Rhude are now of our people too.
