Since they were founded in 2005, Veja has been making environmentally friendly sneakers in Brazil using local raw materials sourced from organic farming and ecological agriculture without chemicals or polluting processes, as well as recycled and up-cycled materials from plastic bottles, production scraps and even their old shoes. Their mindful approach to production also extends to the workforce, treating their employees with respect and providing them with dignified conditions to work in for fair wages. The brand has become a favorite of celebs like Meghan Markle and Emma Watson not only for their sustainable mission, but also for their cleanly designed silhouettes. Our selection from Veja includes court-inspired leather built models the popular V-10 and Campo, both made using leather from tanneries that are gold-rated for their low environmental impact, as well as models like the Rio Branco Alveomesh and V-10 B-Mesh that are constructed from polyester fibers made from recycled plastic bottles. All of their shoes features soles made with natural Amazonian rubber that Veja purchases from independent rubber cooperatives at twice the market price to support the conservation of the land.
