At Lapstone & Hammer, the line between one's job and one's passion can get very blurry in the best possible way. Which is to say that we have a staff of very creative and multi-talented people who love what they do. And we love what they do too, so as the new year begins to settle around us we will be making an effort to shine a spotlight on the creative efforts of the Lapstone Team. It is in that spirit that we are thrilled to present the Rac x Lapstone & Hammer Year 4 No-Pocket Hoodie, an original cut & sew piece designed by our own Anthony "Rac" Racaniello.
The relationship between Lapstone & Hammer and Rac goes back quite a while, when the noted sneaker aficionado became our marketing director over three years ago. And while he has put out several things under many different banners in that time span, this highly accomplished graphic and fashion designer has never lent his creative juices to an official Lapstone release... until now.

Designed by Rac to commemorate our recent four year anniversary, the Year 4 No-Pocket Hoodie is made from 100% cotton, medium weight premium French terry that has been machine treated to replicate the soft feeling of your favorite, most worn hoodies. The fabric has been hand-dyed in burgundy and black, then salt washed and stone washed - a combination that results in the unique color displacement for a worn-in look as well as the soft hand and supreme comfort. The absence of a kangaroo pocket was born out of Rac's vision of a piece that sits conveniently between a hoodie and a traditional crewneck sweatshirt, creating a unique clean-line aesthetic that is perfect for layering.
On the front of the garment, Rac has reworked our "stack" logo into a multi-layer, multi-media image that features a black and white direct to garment print overlaid with a screen-printed split logo accent that sandwiches an offset Lapstone & Hammer in rich, double-lined bronze-colored embroidery. Neon pink and green screen print accents hit the left shoulder and mid chest, while a stylized "Year 4" on the three-panel hood and a "Rac" signature on the right sleeve are embroidered in a matching sand color.
Never one to let the smallest detail go unnoticed, Rac obsessed over the fit and finish. Pulling aspects from his all time favorite sweatshirts, Rac incorporated personal elements like longer cuffs, boxy fit, sharp shoulder drop, oversized hood and elongated drawstrings. A co-branded neck tag puts the finishing touch on this special, and long overdue, collaborative project.
The Rac x Lapstone & Hammer Year 4 No-Pocket Hoodie will be available on Friday, January 17th @ 10:00am both in-store and online.
