Midnight Studios, the L.A. based brand founded by Shane Gonzales, has teamed up with Converse to put their minimalist, punk-flavored spin on a pair classic styles. The 23 year old wunderkind chose the iconic Chuck Taylor 70 High and the One Star Ox silhouettes for a stripped-down design that turns the classic sneakers inside out, exposing the raw edges and seams of the unbleached greige canvas of the uppers. The shoes are adorned with details like printed production model graphics, branded laces, exposed size tags and even the iconic Chuck ankle patch flipped around backwards. This end result is a duality of style: deconstructed yet clean, classic yet daring, niche and universal at the same time.
The Midnight Studios x Converse collection will be available on Friday, June 15th @ 10:00am in-store and online.
