Virgil Abloh has done it again, applying his distinctive deconstructed aesthetic to another iconic silhouette on his latest Jordan collab, the Off White x WMNS Air Jordan 4 Retro SP "Sail". Made exclusively in women's sizes, the shoe was first seen at Abloh's exhibit at MCA Chicago before being featured in his Paris fashion week show... and now it is finally available to lucky raffle winners!
The shoe is built with a cream-colored full-grain leather upper accented with translucent TPU overlays on the mesh side panels and tongue, laces wings, eyelets, heel badge and tongue tag. Abloh's signature bold Helvetica type calls out "AIR" on the midsoles, "SHOELACES" on the four sets of laces and manufacturing details under the medial mesh side panel.
Raw edges on the leather panels, exposed foam on the collar and an interior view of the heel through the translucent heel badge slot into the deconstructed theme, while a tonal midsole and semi-translucent tonal outsole complete the construction. A tonal version of the iconic zip-tie and a tonal hangtag provide the finishing touches to what is surely the sneaker highlight of this Covid Summer.
The Off White x WMNS Air Jordan 4 Retro SP "Sail" releases on Saturday, July 25th, and is only available via raffle to those who can pick up at our shop on 1106 Chestnut St. in Philadelphia.
