The Columbia Bugaboot 1, a reissue of Columbia’s first ever footwear product, returns to stores in all it's mid '90s glory. This versatile hybrid combines a weather-defying duckboot with the performance of an athletic shoe wrapped up in Columbia's signature aesthetic. For this special limited edition re-issue, only 1,993 pairs were made, in honor of the year of its debut, and Lapstone is thrilled to have this classic style available on Wednesday, 10/15 @ 10:00am.
Of course, we can't let a landmark reissue like this go by without a proper event to mark the occasion. Come out to Lapstone & Hammer (1106 Chestnut St.) on Wednesday 10/15 from 5pm-7pm for a special happy hour celebration commemorating this limited edition release. Check out the Peter Moore archive display while FROSTY hits the decks and brings the high vibes, and sip on specialty cocktails from an open bar (21+) by 13th Street Cocktails.
Columbia’s long line of quality footwear began in 1993 with the game-changing Bugaboot. Thanks to visionary designer Peter Moore, creator of the Nike Dunk and Air Jordan 1, and the pioneering mindset of Columbia Founder Gert Boyle and her son, CEO Tim, Columbia’s first venture into footwear was had be both utilitarian and aesthetically pleasing. Peter was their first and only choice to create a functional outdoor boot that reflected the company’s rugged, innovative spirit, and complement their breakout Bugaboo 3-in-1 jackets.
The 2025 edition honors the original ‘90s legacy design while incorporating Columbia’s latest premium footwear technology: Omni-Grip outsole and TechLite lightweight cushioning. Only 1,993 pairs will be released globally, with each individually numbered to provide people with a one-of-a-kind product.
