JSP X BOATHOUSE X TEMPLE UNIVERSITY "SKATEBOARD OWLS"

Jimmy Gorecki - Philly skateboard royalty, sweatpants impresario and longtime Lapstone homie - never misses an opportunity to show love to his hometown, but his latest project may be even closer to his heart than ever before. The JSP x Boathouse x Temple University "Skateboard Owls" is an homage to Jimmy's college days, throwing it back to breaking-in skate spots across Cecil B. and North Broad during his time on the Temple campus. This 5 piece collection dropping on Thursday 4/4 both in-store and online is a combination of the high quality manufacturing focus presented by Boathouse at their North Philly production facility, and Standard Issue's French terry and fleece garments built at their Vernon, California facility.

This capsule offering between Boathouse and JSP authentically pays homage to Gorecki's devotion to Temple's campus and the skate culture he helped build there. This "made in Philadelphia" partnership is something every graduate from Temple University can identify with, even if they didn't spend countless hours skating at Cecil B. Moore.

"The Skateboard Owls collection is inspired by the rich skateboard history that's taken place on the campus going back as far as Sub Zero's world famous "Real Life" film that came out in '94. We're sure Philly legends Chuck Treece and Roger Browne were shredding there prior to then, but in the years to follow the plaza at Cecil B Moore became an alternative daytime spot when Philly skaters would be waiting for Fairmount Park rangers to leave Love Park for the day.
Organically, the extremely talented and popular pros in the city during that era landed Cecil and the various buildings at Temple on the cover and contents of skate mags and numerous major skateboard films throughout the years. All of it evolving into this beautifully blossomed contingency of skateboarders in the student body. The energy and cultural connectivity there as a result of skateboarding is a beautiful thing on any given day, especially those spring and early summer hours...
Blended with a mix of heritage and current Temple branding, the collection connects to school's cherry and white with a mix of JSP on the Boathouse produced Bucket, Coaches Jacket, and Journey track pant. It all comes back full circle on the heavy duty, rough, rugged and raw Standard Issue produced tee and hoodie. Front and back hits throughout make sure this unofficial skate uniform is on display on or off your board, and on or off campus..."
