On Friday, February 10th Lapstone & Hammer will be joined by Nike Virtual Studios to host one of their .SWOOSH sessions in support of Nike's new Web3 platform for a conversation about Web3, virtual creations, and building collaborative digital spaces. You'll hear from cultural leaders within the Web3 and sneaker communities and get a chance to preview the future of the .SWOOSH platform.
All registered attendees will also receive a .SWOOSH ID, which will allow Nike Members to learn about, collect and eventually help co-create virtual creations, which are typically interactive digital objects such as virtual shoes or jerseys, as well as unlocking access to exclusive drops. Click on the button below to register for the event:
You will have the opportunity to select from two sessions on Friday, February 10th:
.SWOOSH Session 1 -12:00 PM - 3:00 PM
.SWOOSH Session 2 - 5:00 PM - 8:00PM
The event will feature a panel discussion with curated speakers and a preview of the platform, snacks and refreshments, a DJ spinning tunes in the downtime and special surprises! As mentioned above, everyone who registers AND attends will receive a .SWOOSH account. The .SWOOSH platform is currently still in the Beta phase, and attending a .SWOOSH session is the only way to obtain an account at the moment.
The new digital community and experience is a home for Nike virtual creations and uses blockchain-powered technology — or what many call “web3” — to offer an inclusive, equitable place for athletes, creators, collectors and consumers to design and own the future of sport.
To ensure it is a safe, trusted space, .SWOOSH has its own domain: welcome.swoosh.nike. There, Nike Members will be able to learn about and collect virtual creations, which are typically interactive digital objects, such as virtual shoes or jerseys, that community members will soon be able to wear in digital games and immersive experiences. In some instances, community members will be able to unlock access to physical product or events like intimate conversations with athletes or designers.
In 2023 Nike will debut its first digital collection, shaped by the platform's community. Shortly after the first digital collection drops, members will be able to enter a community challenge to win the opportunity to co-create virtual product with Nike. Those winners can earn a royalty on the virtual product they help co-create.
The point: to expand the definition of sport — and serve its future — by democratizing the web3 experience so that everyone can collect, create and own a piece of this new digital world.
