TELA D'AMORE X JORDAN WMNS FLIGHT COURT "THE WORLD IS YOUR COURT"

TELA D'AMORE X JORDAN WMNS FLIGHT COURT "THE WORLD IS YOUR COURT"

Jordan Brand has tapped New York streetwear brand, Who Decides War's co-founder Tela D'Amore, to create a special women's exclusive version of their latest lifestyle silhouette that celebrates female empowerment. The Tela D'Amore x Jordan WMNS Flight Court "The World Is Your Court" was designed by D'Amore with a mission to uplift women of all backgrounds to reclaim male-dominated spaces and celebrate the everyday heroes who thrive in a system that was setup against them. For this campaign we are excited to feature three amazing women from our Lapstone team: Laylah Davis, Madison Thompson and Angelica Colon, to model the shoes and share their own personal stories of how The World Is Their Court.

Originally debuting at last winter's New York Fashion week in a stealthy "Bred" colorway, Tela's back with another take on the Flight Court in a more seasonal "Coconut Milk" version. Multiple off-white hues converge across the nubuck upper, hairy suede mudguard and textile underlays, while red accents, Who Decides War's signature distressed denim-like stitch detailing and clever co-branding instantly catch the eye.

Stitched behind the tongues is Tela's inspirational message, “The World Is Your Court,” a bold invitation to claim your space, rewrite the rules and play the game of life on your terms. Tela and her muses didn’t wait for it to be socially acceptable to chase their passions. They kicked the door down and forged their own path, pushing boundaries and redefining the feminine edge.

Like her own unique interpretation of the Flight Court, Tela hopes to inspire women to transform life’s blank canvas into a masterpiece of their own design. This collaboration is very intentional for Tela and Who decides War, with every stitch, every pattern, every collection reminding women… THE WORLD IS HERS.

The Tela D'Amore x Jordan WMNS Flight Court "The World Is Your Court" will only be available via digital raffle beginning Wednesday, July 10 @ 10:00am.

I’m claiming space in a world that was never designed with girls like me in mind. Black, Muslim, covered and unapologetic. Growing up, I’ve had to push through silence, stares and stereotypes just to feel seen. I’ve learned that I don’t need permission to show up, I already belong. Whether it’s in classrooms, campaigns or creative spaces, I move like the world is mine because I’ve had to fight to see myself reflected in it. I wear my hijab like a crown and my presence is proof that I can exist boldly, beautifully and powerfully in spaces that weren’t built for me! The world is my court and I don’t play small.
Madison Thompson
Growing up in an all-girls school makes me no stranger to the idea of women “taking up space” and reclaiming positions and places that were once sworn off-limits, or too risky. With a message as poignant and clear as “The World Is Your Court”, Tela D’Amore reinforces all of these ideas and encourages women everywhere to take control and express themselves openly and freely. Pushing us to take advantage of the blank canvas that is our life, and create something meaningful and impactful from it.
As a member of the Lapstone community, style and fashion are not only integral to what I do, and help me to be a better sales associate, but my style is also central to me and how I express myself. I’ve been in positions where I felt like my value was dependent on how much I showed and not what I wore, and I vowed to never let myself feel that way again. I made a promise to shift my self-expression and ensure people saw me for me, a girl who, at her core, really likes storytelling through fashion. I love colors, proportions, prints and patterns. All the small quirks and details that often go overlooked, but really complete an outfit and make a statement. I allow my outfits to convey an emotion or state of mind before anyone asks me how I’m doing.

My pride shows through my sneakers, as I feel my most unstoppable with a fresh pair of kicks adorning my feet. So it should go without saying that once I saw the Flight Court in person, I was completely enamored with the shoe. From the moment you unbox it, you can feel the care and attention to detail that went into bringing this concept to life. Which is why I’m honored to have been chosen to be a part of this project, honored to be a member of the Lapstone family, and most of all honored to have the reminder that The World really is My Court. I should set foot onto it gracefully and with style, because I know my position was hard-earned, not given.
Angelica Colon

Boxing is a huge passion of mine. It builds my physical strength, but more importantly it sharpens my mind and discipline in a male-dominated space. I feel powerful, focused, and completely in control. I also love baking and cooking, and have dreams of becoming a pharmacist to help people in need of medicine and care.

The World Is Hers / The World Is Her Court mean creating space where we weren’t expected and owning every inch of it. Being a woman in those spaces isn’t just bold, it's transformative. I'm growing into my womanhood with grace and grit. I love being a woman, I love being strong, and I love evolving. The world is her court too, and I'm just getting started.
