Lapstone & Hammer is partnering with American workwear brand Stan Ray for an exploration of sustainability, up-cycling and design collage on a new collaborative apparel capsule: Lapstone x Stan Ray RECONSTRUCT. Releasing on Friday, September 25th, RECONSTRUCT is the first in a series of projects that will embody the elements of sustainability and garment up-cycling, breathing new life into existing pieces of clothing by re-making them into something entirely different. For this initial project, Stan Ray's made-in-the-USA heritage workwear, unparalleled quality and attention to detail, and support and willingness to buy into the concept made them the ideal partner.

RECONSTRUCT is, at its core, about transformation. We started off with several different colors and patterns of Tapered Fatigue Pants and Military Jackets from Stan Ray, which our Lapstone staff then systematically deconstructed. The various panels were then arranged by our lead designer James Griffin and reconstructed into several different combinations of black, navy, olive, natural, woodland and tiger camo by seamstress, designer and longtime Lapstone team member Desiree Negron (@latenite_clothing).

Mixing colors, materials and patterns, the newly reassembled pieces are made of five different pieces for each pair of pants, and three different pieces on each jacket. We also made tote bags reconstructed from two different totes, and added two 100% cotton tees that features a co-branded logo on the front and a re-imagined Lapstone logo in Stan Ray's instantly recognizable font printed in yellow.

Twelve different color combinations will be available to purchase online, with even more combinations releasing exclusively in-store at our 1106 Chestnut St. location in Philadelphia.
