PAULINE'S BRIDAL SHOPPE

PAULINE'S BRIDAL SHOPPE

Pauline's Bridal Shoppe is our new special project that pays tribute to the shops that once existed in our Historical Landmark Building, and embraces the artistry and traditions of those that came before us. This collection, featuring short and long sleeve tees, crews and hoodies, honors two businesses that are crucial to the history of 1106 Chestnut Street: Pauline's Bridal Shoppe and MUMS Deodorant.

Pauline's Bridal Shoppe occupied the building throughout the 1960s and '70s, outfitting the city's brides-to-be in the flyest wedding gear money could buy. Long after they left, their neon sign still hung above the backdoor to the building until we took it down during the renovation prior to Lapstone & Hammer's opening. That sign still lives on as the inspiration behind the design of the Pauline's Bridal Shoppe logo that graces the apparel in this collection, as well inspiring the theme of this entire project.

MUMS Deodorant was the world's first commercially produced deodorant, and was invented in 1888 right here in our building by a scientist working for Evans Drug Store. MUMS gained recognition the world over not only for their innovative antiperspirant, but also for their eye-catching advertisements and ubiquitous slogan, "MUM is the word".  That slogan and those ads inspired the designs seen on the tees and hoodies.

The Pauline's Bridal Shoppe collection will be available in-store and online beginning Friday, January 19th.
