Penny Hardaway is forever linked to the Memphis Tigers, the university he coaches and played for, and honored on his debut signature with the Air Max Penny "Tiger Stripes". The shoe starts simple with black tumbled leather accented with a large white Phylon wing on the side that extends from the midsole and holds the black and white jewel swoosh. The Memphis connection comes through black and white striped suede panels on the sides, with black and white embroidered branding on the tongue and "1 Cent" logo on the heel filling in the details. Braided piping runs along the mid panel, while a chunky black and white midsole with an expansive clear Max Air unit in the heel and a white and black outsole finishes off the design.
